Psychotherapy Action Network - PsiAN
The Psychotherapy Action Network grew from the energy generated by a conference sponsored by the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis in Chicago in 2017.  That conference outlined the various ways in which therapies of depth, insight and relationship have been marginalized, and then sounded a rallying cry to protect them.  Building on the energy and enthusiasm from the conference participants, our goal was to create a big tent to unite supporters of psychotherapy and speak up with a unified voice.
Since then, we are proud of what we have been able to accomplish. PsiAN has already taken its place among leading mental health advocacy organizations, and our voice has earned the respect of educators, policy makers, clinicians, and the media. They look to us to speak out and stand up for efforts to defend and advance psychotherapy. Our individual membership and Strategic Partners continue to grow in strength and numbers, and we are proud to have assembled a Board of Directors and an Advisory Board of exemplary researchers, scholars, clinicians, and advocates of therapy.
We pledge to work diligently to advocate for therapies of depth, insight and relationship, and to engage policy makers, the general public, and our own professional organizations to advance psychotherapy for the next generation and beyond.
