This discussion group will focus on the middle two books in the Neapolitan Quartet - The Story of a New Name and Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay by Elena Ferrante . * Aspects of this quartet will be addressed in an upcoming VAPS Applied Psychoanalysis Committee conference in the Spring of 2021, by Dr. Christine Maksimovicz and Dr. Stacey Novack. This discussion group will help us prepare, in part, for that conference. After this meeting, there will be 1 more discussion group before the spring conference, to discuss the last book of the series. The book discussion group series gives us an opportunity to read each work together and explore some of its richness before the day-long conference. However, each discussion group will explore one of the books, and will be independent of the other group meetings; participants need not have been present in the previous discussion in order to join this one.
