Freud's Birthday Celebration and Talk 2024 - Psychoanalytic Perspectives on Siblings

Psychoanalytic Perspectives on Siblings with Mina Levinsky-Wohl and Gabriela Legorreta

An educational and social event free to members. Non-members are welcome to attend for a small fee, or become a member and attend for free!

Former VAPS president Mina levinsky-Wohl and her colleague Gabriela Legorreta will present psychoanalytic perspectives associated with siblings based on works by L Kancyper, J. Mitchel, R. Kaes, B. Robertson, and others. Siblings are essential in all social structures. This presentation asserts that we need a paradigm shift that includes the lateral dimension, mostly manifested in sibling relationships, to better understand the way it contributes to the structuring of the psyche. To ensure a lively and dynamic exchange, participants will be encouraged to share clinical vignettes about sibling relationships.

Appetizers and beverages will follow the presentation in celebration of Freud's birthday.

2 CEUs will be available. Contact Barbara Richmond (barbararichmondpsychologist@gmail.com) with any questions.
